Eat a fertility-friendly diet – 5 great tips

A change in your diet may just be what the doctor ordered to boost your fertility.  Try these diet-fixes to help promote fertility naturally:

Avoid crash diets.  Diets that are too strict or cut too many calories can have  negative effects on male sperm count or female ovulation.

Eat oysters.  These shellfish contains high levels of zinc, which is important for male fertility.

Take your vitamins.  Vitamin E may improve sperm motility and viability, while daily supplementation of 1,000 mg of calcium and 10 mcg of vitamin D may improve fertility in men.

Avoid alcohol.  Alcohol consumption may reduce female fertility by up to 50%.

Limit caffeine.  Women trying to conceive should limit their coffee intake to 1 cup a day.
