Actress Marcia Cross gained celebrity status playing the role of Bree Van de Kamp on Desperate Housewives. Now, she is speaking out about delaying pregnancy until her 40’s.
One week after their wedding, 44-year-old Cross and her husband began IVF treatments. Surprisingly, they became pregnant with twins after their first round of treatments.
However, due to complications including preeclampsia Cross underwent an emergency c-section 4 weeks early. Her daughters Eden and Savannah were born healthy and were able to go home just 4 days after their birth.
Despite those early complications, Cross is in love with her new role as a mother. However, she has some advice for aspiring moms: “Your forties is not the time to be thinking about getting pregnant.”
Even given her success at conceiving, she doesn’t recommend that women wait until their 40s to get pregnant. Cross represents just one opinion on late motherhood. Check out the original article for more views on 40-something parents.
